Friend
Amirali was lucky to have a large number of friends whom he had acquainted as a result of many different experiences. He had many childhood friends who he would keep in touch with on a regular basis. He also had many close friends, whom he would give a lot of affection to. If you were a friend of Amirali, please write your tribute here.
A true role model
Amir bhai is (not was) an inspiration whose burning light will never fade from our memory. He has guided us all in his own way to help those less fortunate then ourselves by providing the opportunity and the means to make a difference. When I last saw him in the hospital, I controversially suggested that despite all our efforts, have we really made a difference and affected change for the better? He was quick to respond stating that “even changing one life was worth the effort. It could change the lives of all around and for that persons future generation to follow. This is what made him a role model. Don’t think of big things to change. Change one life. That’s achievable for everyone. That’s what defines his success.
As everyone reading this knows, He helped change many lives. By asking us to change just one life.
May Allah bless his soul eternally and protect his legacy for generation after generation.
Selfless Philanthropist
I first got to know Amir when we were growing up in Mombasa and my memory is of my Father who was then the Head of Jaffery Academy praising him regularly. If there was anyone to be trusted it was Amir Karim were my Father’s oft repeated words. I grew to accept Amir as a wonderful person whom one could turn to in time of need. Lady Fatima Trust did not exist then. Amir Karim’s selflessness, philanthropy and trustworthiness did.
These traits came through regularly like the time Amir together with his wife and young children drove my sister and I home one evening when we were without transport. We lived miles away from Amir’s home and it was fairly late. I was aware of the distances and pointed this out to him. True to his temperament Amir was totally undeterred and drove us home. I feel grateful to this day.
I once mentioned the prayers of Imam Zain al Abadin (a.s) to Amir. Sure, enough I was presented a beautiful copy of Al-Sahifah Al-Sajjadiyyah. I have it here with a message from Amir dated 16-11.1986. I have read the prayers any number of times and no doubt Amir and his family are blessed with every prayer I read.
Later when Amir started the Lady Fatima Charitable Trust I without hesitation made my contributions knowing that everyone penny I gave would go to a deserving cause. The housing projects, water wells, education provisions, hospital facilities, the empowering of widows through microfinancing and other projects that help widows and orphans are testimony to Amir’s relentless work, dedication and focus on helping the helpless.
On my recent visit to an Orphanage in Najaf, I was delighted but unsurprised when the name of Amir Karim was mentioned. The Orphanage is in receipt of regular generous assistance from Lady Fatima Charitable Trust.
I visited Amir a few days before he returned to Allah’s mercy and he told me with tears his eyes that there was nothing he wanted from the world except to be of service to Lady Fatima Trust.
May his soul rest in Jannath ul Firdous and may Lady Fatima Charitable Trust shine like a beacon In Shaa Allah. Ameen
Best Gift to Children is Education
“Best gift to the children is Education” This what Haj Karim (Rahamtu Allah Alihe) kept saying to me. Most of you know about AlHamam village Widows story who lost their husbands by ISIS in Iraq. They had 32 orphans who lost their education for 2 years then LFCT advocated them to register them by schools, first year 18 from them failed the exams of their school. Haj Karim insisted to follow up with them, LFCT hired private teacher to them, LFCT provided them with stationary, bags, shoes, uniform clothes for the school and also prepared the place where they can take the private lessons in comfortable way. Just before 11 days I had visited them for following up and they showed me their certificates of their Mid-Year exam (ALL OF THEM WERE PASSED WITH HIGH MARKS). That situation drove me to tears that how to inform Haj Karim with these news, he would be very happy to hear that.
May Allah rewards him Jannah, and may Allah help us to keep working on his footsteps.
With Salam and Duaa from Kerbala to All

My Guru
In 1960s in Mombasa whilst I was in my teens I would take every opportunity that I could to visit Amir at Car & General where during his breaks he would entertain me with various stories and lessons. He too was young but his words of wisdom have embedded in my mind
In London we continued our warm acquaintance
