The Lady Fatemah Trust
"Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of afundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life."
- Nelson Mandela
Amirali Karim was an extraordinary human being with remarkable charisma. He had a profound impact in the community, emphasizing the importance of charity through his actions rather than words. Amirali Karim was able to actualise his desire to eradicate poverty and to uplift lives. This vision shone through in all his commitments. He worked tirelessly to empower people with tools to earn sustenance, so they were able to live a dignified life instead of living on continuous handouts. He overcame incredible obstacles, forging new ground internationally. Standing above divisions of race, religion or tribe. This was the philosophy he brought to the charity.
He recently had the pleasure of seeing the Lady Fatemah Trust gain United Nations Consultative Status, actualising the dream that either one is your brother in faith or one is your equal in humanity
He helped aid over 1.3 million people in over 20 different countries raising £25 million pounds over the 21 years of his service.
His vision can be seen through these few words:
"Our aim is provide sustainable aid to thousands around the world by removing all the administration costs that most charities charge.
The world has never been as rich as it is today, yet over one billion people suffer from extreme poverty."
The Lady Fatemah Trust is a non-profit, non-governmental and faith-based humanitarian organisation whose mission is to empower the world's poorest to lift them out of poverty with dignity. We believe that the eradication of poverty is not only a matter of conscience; it is a prerequisite for the security and prosperity of humanity at large and that freedom from poverty is a fundamental human right.
The charity's primary purpose is to undertake manageable and sustainable projects that can make a real difference to individuals and communities, enabling them to improve their lives. We help people in need to reduce their dependence on humanitarian aid and facilitate their transition to sustainable self-reliant, long-term development.
